Inflatable Spa - FAQ
In the following section, you will find out the most frequently asked questions related to our products.
General questions before buying
What do you need to buy to put the whirlpool into operation?
Nothing. Everything you need is included in the package. It is the whirlpool itself, the top cover with a thermo-reflective layer, an air hose with which the whirlpool inflates itself. Furthermore, a cartridge filter, a lower pad on which the whirlpool stands.
Does the whirlpool have a switch?
Yes, the Belatrix whirlpool is equipped with a cable that has a switch on it. We do not recommend using an extension cord as this may result in a fire!
Who can use the hot tub?
A responsible adult should always be present when using the hot tub.
A lower temperature should generally be set for children. Children under the age of 8 should be supervised at all times. Children 8 years of age and older using the Belatrix hot tub may do so at the discretion of the responsible adult.
We do not recommend using the hot tub during pregnancy and also for skin diseases such as folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicles).
What about spare parts and service?
We are importers of goods to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, so we have all parts in stock. Both warehouses and service are under one roof. It is possible to use e-mail to communicate with service: servis@goatle.cz
Can hot tubs be stand on any surface?
No. Care should be taken when positioning, as the whirlpool must be placed on a surface that is flat and smooth. Make sure that there are no stones or objects in the area where you decide to stand it as it could damage the vinyl base of the whirlpool. Please make sure that wherever you decide to place it, for example on the terrace, it will support the total weight of the whirlpool after filling. Belatrix for 4 people will weigh over 800 kg and 6 people over 1000 kg!
How much will the operation of the whirlpool cost me?
Operating costs will vary depending on your electricity provider”s tariffs. You also need to consider how often and for how long you want to use the hot tub. If you need to calculate the cost, check with your electricity supplier for the current price of electricity.
We recommend turning on the heater only 24-36 hours before use to keep costs to a minimum.
Can hot tubs be used indoors and outdoors?
Yes! It can be used indoors and outdoors, but care must be taken when using indoors, as there is an increased risk of damage to carpets / furniture, etc.
How long will it take to warm up?
It depends on the ambient temperature and the current water temperature. We recommend waiting 12-24 hours for the water to reach the desired temperature. Each time you turn off the Belatrix whirlpool, the water temperature drops, so always allow enough time to warm up before use.
Is it necessary to use chemistry in a hot tub to keep the water clean? |
Yes, like every pool, you need to take care of the hot tub. We recommend either oxygen or chlorine chemistry. It is possible to buy it together with the float for dosing on our e-shop.
Is it possible to use salt water?
No, the problem is in the heating, which is made of stainless steel. In the case of salt water, titanium heating is used. However, the price of this heating would be higher than the price of the whole whirlpool.
Is it possible to use external sand filtration?
Yes, the lower drain hose is used as the inlet to the filter and the drain from the filter is placed over the edge of the whirlpool. A standard pool hose fits on the drain.
Usage
How often do I need to change my filter and how can I clean it?
Keep your hot tub clean and protected from dirt. For optimal performance, remove and rinse the filter after EVERY use to remove all small particles and debris. The filter is one of the most important elements for the entire smooth running of the whirlpool. If the filters are used for too long, they will discolour, their condition will deteriorate and this may cause damage.
How often do I need to change the cartridge filters?
It is very individual. The average is about 1-2 months, but it can be longer or less. It depends on how often the whirlpool is used, the temperature, the use of chemicals, etc. We recommend rinsing the filter as often as possible with clean water (preferably after each use)
How to purify water?
To keep the water clean, we recommend purchasing and using a Whirpool set. Alternatively, use another suitable chemistry for outdoor pools.
How do I clean the whirlpool overlay?
We recommend doing this with hot soapy water and a clean cloth and then rinsing with clean water.
How do I know that my hot tub is properly inflated?
Here is an example image of the correct inflation for a standard whirlpool.
When properly inflated, you should be able to push your hand approximately 4-5 cm into the top edge using mild force to create folds similar to the picture above. Keeping your whirlpool inflated to the right pressure ensures optimal conditions and reduces the risk of tearing and seam failure.
How long does it take to inflate the hot tub?
Because the motor and heating system are built-in and pre-prepared in the spa body, once your hot tub is properly placed on a smooth surface, it can be inflated and ready to fill in by water less than 5 minutes. Depending on the size of the selected product.
How to set the temperature?
Follow these 5 simple steps below:
* IMPORTANT:
How long will it take for my hot tub to warm up?
This depends on the outside temperature and the actual temperature of the water used inside the spa. We recommend waiting 12-24 hours for the water to reach the desired temperature. Each time you switch off the whirlpool Belatrix, the water temperature drops, so always allow enough time to warm up before use.
How do I pack a whirlpool when not in use for a long time?
Before packing, make sure that the whirlpool is completely dry, paying special attention to the plastic rim at the bottom of the whirlpool, where the holes for water bubbles are located; if necessary, use a clean cloth / towel to dry. Once the whirlpool is dry, fully deflated, folded and packed in a box, we recommend storing it in a dry environment. If you no longer have the box in which your Belatrix was delivered, use the gray bag that comes with the hot tub.
* USE AFTER STORAGE: We recommend allowing Belatrix to stand at room temperature for 24 hours before inflating to allow the spa material to acclimatize before inflating.

How can I reduce the risk of a hot tub rash (for allergies)?
Defects and procedure for their solution
Why is my hot tub noisy?
Your whirlpool should not make too loud a sound if it is working properly. Check your filter. If it is obviously dirty, clean or replace.
What can I do if the temperature does not rise?
A dirty filter and limescale can affect the overall heating performance and function of your whirlpool.
1. Switch off the hot tub in the mains socket.
Why does my hot tub control panel show a different temperature?
In cases, if the control panel shows a higher value than it is, it is caused by a small amount of residual water (maximum 300 ml) surrounding the heater where the temperature sensor is located - thus displaying an indication that will not be realistic. This is usually caused by a blockage caused by either limescale build-up, a dirty filter or a stuck impeller. If this happens, perform the following steps:

PROBLEMS WITH THE BODY OF THE WHIRLPOOL
Why my whirlpool keeps deflating?
During colder weather, the hot tub may appear to deflate overnight due to a change in air pressure. Simply inflate so that it is soft to the touch.
Blowing out can also be caused by a seam failure, due to excessive inflation / direct sunlight or punctures. First of all, make sure that all valves are installed correctly.
To make it easier to find the punctures, we recommend using a dishwashing liquid diluted with water and moistening the surface of the whirlpool. Leaking air should cause visible bubbles to clearly indicate where the puncture is located.
If you are unable to identify leaks, send us a hot tub at a service center:
Goatle, s.r.o. Hybrálec 14 586 01 Jihlava Czech Republic
Attach a copy of the purchase invoice and a cover letter describing the problem and include contact information. We will resolve the complaint within 30 days of receiving the hot tub.
How do I fix a leak myself?
Perform when the whirlpool is dry and empty! If the puncture is relatively large, you should leave the inflation compressor on during the repair to prevent it from blowing out before you can apply the repair patch.
The patches are used so that the surface you are repairing is clean and dry. We recommend using Loctite® Super Glue (not included) or Chemoprén Extreme. Crop the patch to the largest patch size and the size is large enough to completely cover it. Apply the glue directly to the repair patch and carefully stick it in place. Allow the patch and glue to set for at least 10 minutes before filling the spa with water.
Why is my hot tub bulging?
If the whirlpool wall or top edge is bulged, it is caused by air expanding inside the wall either due to blowing or exposure to excessive direct sunlight. When the sunlight is too intense, it creates additional stress on the inner welds of the casing, which can lead to damage. Make sure that the Belatrix whirlpool is sufficiently protected and is not used in direct sunlight, as stated in the supplied recommendation!
It is perfectly safe to use the Belatrix whirlpool, which has a bulging wall, but we recommend venting a small amount of air to allow the jacket to increase its volume naturally when the weather is hot. Carefully releasing the drain valve by a small amount will allow a slow release. Inflate the whirlpool only to 90-95% of the capacity, especially during hot / hot weather! The whirlpool should still be soft to the touch to allow air to circulate inside the casing.
Why does a new, replaced whirlpool body seem smaller to me?
If the hot tub body has been replaced for any reason, you may notice a slight difference in size compared to the previous one. However, all bodies start at exactly the same production size. The ambient water temperature in the hot tub determines if and how much your hot tub expands. NOTE: Bulges caused by direct sunlight and seam defects and damage caused by blowing do not apply to the warranty.

AIR NOZZLES (BUBBLES) INTERRUPTION
The bubbles stop by themselves, is this normal?
The air nozzles stop automatically after 20 minutes of continuous use to prevent the indoor pump from overheating. They can be restarted after 10 minutes.
The air nozzles can be stopped or restarted at any time during the 20 minute cycle.

FC Error Code – What does it mean?
The FC error code is displayed when the filter system has been operating for approximately 168 hours and asks to check the cartridge filter. The pump and heating button will be deactivated during this time.
Check that the filter is clean and replace it if necessary. Once you have checked this, press the "Filter" button and the FC error code will disappear. The water temperature is displayed and all functions return to normal.
SL Error Code – What does it mean?
The SL error code can appear for two reasons:
1) Clogged or dirty filter
This error code can be easily resolved:
HL Error Code – What does it mean?
An HL fault usually means that a blockage has occurred which prevents water from circulating around the pump and heating system. Blockage can be caused by a dirty filter, a clogged impeller or limescale deposits - especially if you have problems with hard water in your home. This will cause a higher temperature than the set temperature to be recorded.
Try the following:
Use an elastic band to hold the filter element in place (to prevent dirt from entering the pump)
PRESS ONLY the Filter ON button
Check the water flow from the filter outlet (place your hand 16 cm from the outlet)
If the flow is weak or non-existent, try the following with the pump switched off:
Unplug the whirlpool for 10 minutes.
1) Make sure your filter is clean and does not need to be replaced. A dirty or old filter can cause clogging. After cleaning the filter, the filter element must be rinsed under running water to clean it thoroughly.
3) Blockage with limescale
If the problem persists, please contact the Belatrix Service Center by email at obchod@goatle.cz.
